Microsoft has released a new theme for windows 7. This theme consists of beautiful images taken from NASA’s Spitzer space telescope. They are original images taken directly from the telescope consisting of unique view of stars, Nebula and galaxies.


There are 14 high resolution images, but comparing these to wallpapers available today will not be justified as these images are unedited.  As it is an official Microsoft theme it can be installed and applied just by clicking on it after download.

HCL Launches 3G-ready Netbook

HCL Infosystems has unveiled its new range of 3G enabled ME series Netbook, the HCL ME 06.

Designed to match the persona of today’s youth and support the on-the-go lifestyle of business executives, HCL ME 06 comes with integrated 3G capabilities, offering seamless connectivity and faster access to the internet. With energy star 5.0 certified, HCL ME 06 will be available in a range of colours including red, blue and black.

HCL also launched the new notebook ‘HCL ME 45’, equipped with multi touch gesture touchpad that helps a user to expand, shrink and rotate the picture through the movement of figures on touchpad. Other innovative features include -

The HCL ME 06 netbook is priced at Rs. 19,990 and HCL ME 45 notebook is available for Rs. 39,990. These products will be available across stores in the country.

Yuvraj Singh Sacked As Kings X1 Punjab Captain - Kumar Sangakkara Takes Over

Kumar Sangakkara has replaced Yuvraj Singh as the captain of the IPL team, the Kings Eleven Punjab. The decision has been reportedly conveyed to Yuvraj Singh today by the CEO of the franchisee, Anil Srivatsa. This was rumored for the past two weeks but now official confirmation has come.Yuvraj Singh led the team in the first two seasons of the IPL, reaching the semi-final in the first season and finishing 5th in the second season. Earlier reports had suggested that Yuvraj was being replaced because of his attitude problem, as Tom Moody said he continually ignored the team management’s advice and not because of the performance of the team.Kings X1 Punjab Coach Tom Moody was unhappy with Yuvraj Singh and wanted Kumar Sangakkara to be the captain. Anil Srivatsa, CEO of Kings X1 Punjab has said it officially now that Kumar Sangakkara will lead Kings X1 Punjab from the 3rd Season of IPL starting from March 11.
Kumar Sangakkara is now the captain of the Sri Lankan National Team as well.

Any way, the Hard hitting South Paw will have to perform more than what he has done in IPL so far, not in bowling but with batting.

Sony's Vaio P was something that every geek out there synomously describes as a horrible mistake. Google Chrome OS is ready to Launch in Next Week

Google Chrome Operating System Preview and Screenshot

Google’s Chrome OS project, first announced in July, will become available for download within a week, as said by Google.

What’s Google Chrome:

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system. However the operating system will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year, Google is planning to open-source its code. Its a boon for the developers to work on it. Netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second quarter of 2010.

Google Chrome OS is reportedly being created for people who spend most of their time on the web surfing and browsing. Also Google said in their blog that Chrome OS is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems.

Expectations Overwhelmed:

With over 4 months of development of Google Chrome OS, it is set to release the coming week. And as always like any other Google product, the Chrome OS will be available for free download. There have been a number of screenshots resembling as Google Chrome OS. But officially or by leaking of images there has never been a screenshot of the Chrome OS on the web. Google has always created a lot of hype for its products be it the Google Wave or Google Voice or the New Orkut. But this time around it is entirely a different story so far. May be the hype would start from now on as the Official Statement of release of Google Chrome OS has come.

Situation At Present:

Driver support will more or less be a weak point. Drivers and Applications is extremely important to the success of Chrome OS but it remains a question mark. People will be eager to download this OS as soon as it is released, probably the coming week anyway.

Google has already said they are working with Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba on this Google Chrome OS project.

Compatibility:

However the compatibility is still a question. There have been many reports and speculations that you need to have compatible devices for the OS to work. So it is not assured that you can install Google Chrome OS on your computer or laptop on the day of release due to compatibility issues.

Google Chrome OS is designed to run on both x86 as well as ARM chips. The software architecture is simple as Google says that Google Chrome running within a new window system on top of a Linux Kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using their own favorite web technologies. Also adding to these, the apps will not only run on Google Chrome OS but on any OS like Windows, Mac, Linux and more.

Dell, HP Notebooks with SDXC Format

Almost all laptops today come with built-in multimedia card reader which makes it easy to carry around memory cards in different formats. With the idea of new SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) format standard materializing, it will replace the existing SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) format by early 2010. Dell, Lenovo and HP are working to roll out new laptop models with SDXC card reading support, reported DailyTech.

Earlier this year, at CES 2009, the SDXC standard was announced and now at the CES 2010 the 64GB SDXC memory cards would showed off. These new SDXC memory cards would support speeds as high as 300MB/s. The capacity of these cards could be available up to 2TB! Also, SDXC card readers would be backward compatible so that SDHC, SD andMMC cards are easily readable.

Intel's upcoming 32nm Westmere-die shrink based 'Arrandale' processors will pack 45nm Nehalem integrated graphics chip along with integrated memory controller. Also, the new chipsets will support the SDXC format cards through PCI-Express slot since USB 2.0 ports can't offer enough bandwidth. As of now, Intel has pushed its USB 3.0 supporting chipset plans to 2011.

At the upcoming CES 2010 show next month, we can expect to see loads of gadgets and laptops supporting SDXC memory cards. However, SDXC cards may not support full transfer speed and won't come in 2TB capacity initially. One should also note that these cards would cost more than the high capacity SDHC memory cards. By mid 2010, this SDXC format would go mainstream amongst laptops.

PlayStation 3 US sales up 70%

After years of third-stringing it, Sony’s beleaguered PS3 may finally be rallying, according to sales data cited on Sony’s US PlayStation blog. The company’s American division reports year-over-year October hardware sales lifted nearly 70 percent, and says its online PlayStation storefront clinched record revenues, with downloads up 60 percent over the same period last year.
